After the Rains

Its been a tough few days since my last post: an ailing computer which needed the services of a technician, a move to a new location in my study and a cataract operation on my right eye which, so far, has been successful.

I always love photography after the rains. The air is free of particulate matter and if some moisture persists one gets lovely saturated colours and soft light. With the sun behind clouds, occasionally it is better to stick to simple monotones or even straight B & W. Anyway here are 3 examples of images taken locally after some of the Cape winters heavy rains.

(PS: Just for this blog I failed to remove the visible round blob in the upper right quadrant of the last image – so have a laugh at my expense.)
